LELUU Their clothing is uniquely produced and handmade in very small quantities, so fashionistas can be sure to stand out dressed in Leluu. The individual designs of classic cuts with contemporary twists in fit and detail mean one thing – eye-popping designs that shine. Vintage, contemporary, limited edition and off-cut fabrics also give it the Leluu stamp, such as this striking green dress (£185), which also comes in a range of other colours: a salute to this season's hyper-colour obsession.

"There’s a new kid on the block in Carnaby. Founded by Uyen Luu, an entrepreneur with a background in Art, Film, and Fashion, the Leluu store is the newest and most fitting addition to Newburgh Street. A walk down the quirky shopping destination leads you to a charming storefront. Peek in at the pretty window display and you won’t be able resist taking a closer look.
A fusion store of sorts, the Eastern influence of the owner’s native Vietnam is ever-present with the delicately minimalist floral motif. Not to mention their range of complimentary green and white loose leaf teas. Sip on a cup of Moroccan Mint whilst perusing the racks of whimsical frocks—it’s a shopping experience that is uniquely London, and particularly appealing for those who believe that high street shopping pales in comparison to the prospect of acquiring one-of-a-kind pieces.
You will find those gems at Leluu, where items are produced in limited quantities. Handmade with fabrics sourced from Vietnam, the conscientious collection of clothing always reflects the individualistic spirit that stylish women seek. Vintage detailing fused with contemporary whimsy makes each piece special and absolutely covetable. A vast selection of accessories, bags, and shoes are also available.

» Tea for two at Leluu
So you already know from our piece on Newburgh Street, that if you want to stand out from the crowds Carnaby is THE place for shopping. On that note we recommend you check out Leluu, the newest boutique on the street and my new favourite haunt.

The designer, originally from Vietnam brought a touch of Asia to London, with her exotic colours and hand painted materials. It is definitely the place to go for one-off originals and all the clothes are tailor made, with amendments available in store. No more annoying scenarios of finding that perfect pair of jeans only to find that they fit your legs like a dream but the zip just refuses to go up.
If you’re looking for that one-off show stopping outfit but can’t quite afford the haute couture price tag, then visit Leluu where pieces can cost anything from £60 - £120. The designer only makes a handful of each item so you can be sure to avoid any of those awkward ‘oh my god, she’s wearing my dress’ moments. Why spend all night hiding when you can be the centre of attention? The boutique also has a wide range of accessories, shoes and bags galore, in mainly classic tans and leathers, they are the perfect staple for any wardrobe.
Another treat that will tempt you is the range of complementary teas they offer you on arrival, and with the way the weather has been recently a nice steaming cup is exactly what you need when you’re all shopped out and starting to lag, yes we’ve all been there ladies. More then just a fashion shop the boutique will be offering exclusive tea tasting sessions in the evening.
So make sure you stop on by for a cup of tea and a browse, you may just find what you've always been looking for.

Grazia Shopping Night
"The city has gone Cosmopolitan crazy, last night I was drinking my Carnaby Cosmo at the Grazia shopping night courtesy of Rex nightclub. Despite the summer showers the courtyards and boutiques around Carnaby Street were packed full of shoppers enjoying their 20% discount, live music and free cocktails.
...I did take full advantage of my 20% discount and went straight to the new boutique Leluu on Newburgh Street, they have some fab accessories, love the bags. I tried on lots of pretty summer dresses and bought a really cute one I am determined to wear when the sun shines..."

TIME OUT/ Consume - London Issue March 5th -11th 2008

In about three weeks I’ll be back in London, and this time, instead of complaining about it (though I probably will, inevitably) I’m going to try and look on the bright side of things. Namely, by listing out new places to visit and cafes/restaurants to eat and drink at! The first thing on my list is this new hybrid of a shop called Teaspoon Leluu & Dewdhory - a creative venture merging two of my favourite things - tea and fashion.

From what I can gather, Leluu started as a small independent fashion label with its own boutique in Covent Garden’s Seven Dials. In fact, I even think I’ve been in there several times, always amazed by the whimsical, beautiful clothing and accessories but always too skint to buy any of their pieces. Sadly, they shut down late last year due to extortionate rent. Luckily, they’ve reinvented themselves by opening up a new shop in Paddington - and have combined their love for fashion design with their love for teas! I’m really liking what I see so far.

I’m looking forward to trying some of their teas (they have free taste testings), like Earl Grey Supreme and Oriental Beauty Oolong, as well as their first-pick Shizuoka Sencha. And of course, perusing the racks and perhaps finally investing in a Leluu original!

"Going from one extreme to the other, is the sort of store that makes you want to take your shoes off and curl up with a nice cup of tea. And this is exactly what Vietnamese-born Central St Martins fashion graduate Uyen Luu intended when she set up shop six months ago. She stocks Happiness Tea, Inspiration Tea and other inessential items like silk lampshades, vintage silk knickers, prettily-packaged soaps, lacy handbags and frilly baby stuff. Many of the home furnishings are hand-made by the Luu family in Vietnam. The store’s theme is a nod to the trend of today’s women opting for contented domesticity, rather than the harried singleton lifestyle so celebrated by Bridget Jones and her kind."
"About Teaspoon Leluu Boutique:
Teaspoon is a small and welcoming store selling an array of specialist teas and tea accessories. In the same shop there is also a boutique with the Leluu fashion collection which was in Covent Garden. All designs are handmade by a family run group of female tailors in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam."
"Vietnamese born Uyen Luu is an entrepreneurial spirit acting on intuition rather then mainstream business wisdom. The product line of her shop is not exactly focused, except maybe on her own wide range of tastes: Tea, clothes, soap, baby frills and accessories adorn the cozy space, while some of her own designs are produced by the Luu family in Vietnam. Take a peek into Uyen’s universe..."
